Eliminate Appliqué Bulk
If you’re working with several layers of appliqué shapes, the easiest way to eliminate bulk is to cut away the center part of the design. For instance, if you are fusing a flower shape, first trace around flower on fusible web with adhesive side down/paper side up. Then rough-cut around the fusible-web shape. Next cut away the fusible web inside the shape, cutting about 1/4″ from the traced line. Then press the fusible-web flower shape to the wrong side of your fabric, let it cool, and cut out the fabric shape on the traced line.
